Hi! I'm a Korean American living in the United States, and welcome to Crazy Delish!

There are so many incredible recipes that are popular in Korea but aren't widely known in the U.S. I've always thought that was a shame, and it's one of the biggest reasons I started this blog.

My goal is to discover great recipes from Korea, recreate them using ingredients available in the U.S., and share only the ones that I genuinely think are worth making.

What Makes a Recipe Worth Sharing?

I believe a recipe should meet at least one of these two standards:

Restaurant-quality results that are worth the effort.

Some recipes take extra time, involve more steps, or require a little more patience. But if the final result tastes as good as something you'd order at a great restaurant, I believe that effort is absolutely worth it.

Great flavor for the time and effort involved.

Not every meal needs to be restaurant-quality. Sometimes, a simple recipe that takes just 10 minutes can be incredibly satisfying. What matters to me is whether the results are worth the time and effort you put in.

If a recipe doesn't meet either of these standards, I don't share it.

How I Choose My Recipes

  1. Research
  2. Cook
  3. Compare
  4. Share

I spend a lot of time researching popular recipes from Korea, trying them in my own kitchen, and comparing the results.

I often test multiple versions of the same dish before deciding which one to share. I also consider whether the ingredients are reasonably accessible in the United States and whether the recipe is practical to make at home.

Because I'm selective about what I publish, creating a single blog post can take quite a bit of time.

I'd rather share fewer recipes that I truly recommend than publish something just for the sake of posting.

Beyond the Blog

I also share cooking videos on Instagram Reels, YouTube Shorts, and other social platforms.

Photos are helpful, but sometimes they just can't capture everything about cooking. Through videos, I hope to make it easier to see the cooking process, understand the techniques, and follow along at home.

A Quick Note About Measurements

For my newer recipes, I use standard measuring spoons:

  • 1 tablespoon (tbsp) = 15 ml
  • 1 teaspoon (tsp) = 5 ml

Some of my earliest recipes were measured using older measuring spoons with different capacities. For those recipes, I've also included measurements in grams to help you follow them accurately.

My Hope for Crazy Delish

More than anything, I hope Crazy Delish helps you discover delicious Korean food that you might not have tried otherwise.

Whether you're already familiar with Korean cooking or trying it for the first time, I want you to feel confident making these recipes in your own kitchen.

And most importantly, I hope you enjoy every bite!

Happy cooking!

Crazy Delish
