Korean Sausage Stir Fry (Sausage Bokkeum)
Got a pack of sausages sitting in your fridge? Then you have to make this!
Coated in a sweet, tangy, and slightly spicy sauce, this Korean Sausage Stir Fry comes together in just 15 minutes, making it perfect for busy weeknights or whenever you're craving something quick and satisfying.
In Korea, sausage stir fry (Sausage Bokkeum) is a classic comfort food that many of us grew up eating. It's commonly served as either a main dish or a side dish, and it's just as delicious with a bowl of steamed rice as it is with an ice cold beer.
Traditionally, this dish is made with Korean Vienna sausages. While you can find them at Korean grocery stores like H Mart, they're often more expensive and harder to find. The good news is that Johnsonville smoked sausages make an excellent substitute.

Cooking Tips
- Brown the sausages before adding the onion.
Cook the sausages until they're nicely browned first. If you add the onion too early, it will release moisture and prevent the sausages from developing a flavorful golden crust. - Avoid breakfast sausage.
Both Korean Vienna sausage and Johnsonville Smoked Sausage work great for this recipe. Avoid breakfast sausage, or other soft finely ground sausages, as they won't provide the same texture.
